According to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) severe storms database, there were 6,045 major hail storms & high winds in 2017 resulting in $1.8 billion in property damage.
It is a good practice to take a visual inspection of your roof after a storm has safely passed to ensure you see no visible signs of damage. There may be signs of damage that the untrained eye will not be able to detect such as indentations from hail strikes or creased shingles from wind uplift, potentially shortening the life span of your roofing system & leaving it susceptible to leaks.
